Professional Colleagues Say:

I am a great fan of Michele Egan and her work. The qualities of her work are the qualities of her life--A fresh, French-inspired style, a warm American heart, a discerning and intelligent eye and great personal charm. Michele brings all of these qualities to her work and does so with energy and élan. The result? Timeless, richly realized photographs for her fortunate clients.

Michele Egan is a superb, world-traveled, documentary photographer who has a keen eye for the telling detail, the fleeting expression and the glorious landscape. I have admired her work for years and was delighted to feature her in the 2016 ‘Mirror to the World’ exhibition of documentary photography at the Photoworks Gallery, Glen Echo, Md. Her photo essay, “Winemaking in Alsace,” beautifully reflected her talents as someone who is able to enter a world, understand it, and come back with wonderful images.

Michele’s ability to connect to people is not only evident in the relationships she cultivates with her friends, peers and clients - it is even more unmistakable in her art. Her images capture the beauty and diversity of people and most importantly, visually tell their story in a still frame. Michele's work is alluring, honest and thought provoking.

The Atlas Performing Arts Center had the pleasure of working with Michele Egan as the designated photographer for our Atlas Intersection Festival 2016. This festival is a multi-week festival that includes over 100 performances and showcases more than 500 artists. A formidable task to document. Michele approached this task with great energy, excitement and care for always getting the right shot. Michele's sensitivity to the subject matter and ability to take the right picture at the right time gave us some truly wonderful photographs. Her dedication and focus to the job were beyond compare - it was a true pleasure working with her.

Michele Egan routinely volunteers with Seabury Resources for Aging to photograph events. In 2015 she was hired by our advancement team to create a portrait photo campaign highlighting our residents and clients. She is professional, artistic, and easy to work with. Most importantly she connects with her photography subjects and makes them feel at ease while taking great photographs. I highly recommend her for your photography needs!

Thanks to Michele, the memories of our wedding will last forever. I’ve known Michele for 10+ years and when we were thinking of the photographer for our special day we knew it had to be her. She met us at the venue several weeks before the wedding and we talked about what we were looking for and she gave us some ideas based on her experience and creativity. The day of the wedding, given our natural nervousness, she was patient and allowed us to relax into what was about to happen without pressure of what needed to take place before the ceremony. During the ceremony and events to follow, Michele seemed almost hidden. No one seemed to realize she was around, and as a result, she captured expressions and situations that would have been impossible to stage. The photos from the day were passed along to us much faster than we could have ever expected. The results were magical. This day was something that we never could have imagined would happen, but it did and thanks for Michele it will never be forgotten.

CentroNia Picks

At CentroNía we had the opportunity to work closely with Michele who is incredibly professional, produces wonderful high-quality images, and does so in a short period of time. Michele’s energy and enthusiasm to work with children always captured great images that we now use often in promotional materials and on our website. We are very grateful to her for sharing her time and talent with our community.

Michele has led an incredible team of nearly 20 photographers, for over two years at our huge AFSP Out of the Darkness Walks for Suicide Prevention. Without her volunteer leadership, stewardship and tremendous creativity--our walks would be void of beautiful moments caught on film. Michele has a tremendous gift for leading others and for incredible photography--and has been beyond generous with her time. She is always willing to serve our charity efforts and our foundation is tremendously grateful for her tireless work to capture our events on camera.

Ryan Newcomb, Regional Director - Mid Atlantic: DC, Maryland, and VA at American Foundation for Suicide Prevention

Creativity, precision, and an eye for detail come to mind when thinking of Michele’s work. She not only has the incredible skill to capture emotion with her camera, but also succeeds in conveying the true spirit of a situation with images. In photography, often it’s all about the angles, and Michele is doing an excellent job finding just the right ones. She has proven so with her excellent work as volunteer photographer for the 2013 D.C. Out of the Darkness Community Walk of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. In addition to performing magic behind the camera, Michele also coordinated a team of about 20 photographers on site. The result? All aspects of the Charity Walk are captured beautifully, and a Flickr photo gallery helps Walkers refresh their memories of the day with visuals. I could not have done it without you, Michele. You are a gem!

Michele joined me on a mission to Niger to help with strategic communications for a community-based development project. She is also an extraordinarily talented photographer, and it was there that she took some of her prize-winning photographs of Sahelian women.

Michele is wonderful to work with. She is responsive and reliable, but more importantly, she is passionate about capturing the emotional aspects of the event, which was important to me. She expressed creativity in selecting the shots and she has a kind hearted personality.

The photo shoot with Michele Egan was fun, easy, and without stress. Michele has a great eye for shots that convey what you wish to communicate about yourself in a photograph. In other words she "gets" you and it is clear her purpose is to get great shots but also shots that reflect your character and you as an artist. The resulting photos are my go to shots for promotion on all forms of media. Thanks Michele!

Dave Kline, Musician – Portfolio session

Michele took amazing pictures in black and white of my ten-month old son, David. Not only are the pictures beautiful but they capture a special warmth and bond between him and me. Michele is the consummate professional and a pleasure to work with.

Michele is a joy with which to work. She is a professional with a willing spirit and a strong eye for movement and composition. For my event, she arrived early, tested her equipment, and asked important questions. The results were excellent!

We asked Michele to be the photographer for my daughter’s Bat Mitzvah because we love her portraits and candids. Her skills also clearly include organization, reliability, timeliness, and getting people to relax! She helped us choose the locale for the family photo shoot, was reliable and on-time, asked excellent questions, identified the all-important Grandparents, and charmed people of all ages. She arrived early to make sure that the space was set-up and that the light was appropriate. We have a large family, and Michele stayed right on schedule. Michele is at her best when people are themselves, and her photos, before the service and during the party, are our favorites. Michele is extremely professional; both she and her assistant were unobtrusive and polite. The kids were encouraged to be as goofy as could be after the posed shots, and the photos reflect their comfort level. Our high-quality photos were delivered, via Dropbox, a few days after the event. We highly recommend Michele as a photographer for your special event.

Deanna W. – Daughter’s Bat Mitzvah

Michele took headshots of me and my coworkers for my organization’s new website. She was very flexible with scheduling and even came out to our office in advance to scout out the best locations for the photo shoot. Michele made us all feel very comfortable and at ease. She has a great eye and a warm and professional demeanor – my whole team was very pleased with the final product. Thanks again, Michele!
