Lorton field trip
A group of 35 photographers was allowed access to the Lorton Prison in Virginia for a photo shoot. The prison, which opened in 1918, was home to roughly 1,000 inmates when it closed 17 years ago. At one point 168 suffragettes numbered among its inmates: these women were imprisonned while fighting for their rights and badly mistreated while there.
